Upcoming Matches

Matches for May 13th
Matches for May 20th

The ADA dart banquet will be at PJ's on 4/12/08 (Saturday) at 5:00pm. Come see the teams for the last time this season. Collect the trophies for the top 3 teams, the traveling trophy, and awards for high outs and achievements. Usually there's darts thrown some where in middle of all this too. Food will be on site, so come grab a bite.

"Dupes"

There comes a time when all great things have to come to an end. For the ADA, that was last night. The traveling trophies have been won, and should be at their home bars here in the near future. It was a good run at a season if you ask me. Of course there was ups and downs for every one, but overall I feel the league did good. Oddly enough, the traveling trophies stay at their perspective bars. Congrats go out to PJ’s for the Predators and to Carp’s for Almost Famous. While I heard that the Moose had prime rib for there dart players, PJ’s had some issues.

A Division
Eddies was able to sweep in and steal the outs from the Misfits in 2-0 match. I hear that things just didn’t go right, and Eddies came to play.

The Predators edged one out against Kiss 2-1. I’m sure the matches were close and excitement was all around.

In the end, Eddies could stop the Predators from defending their traveling trophy, 1-2

B Division
Almost Famous battled against Duct Tapes to a close match, 2-1.

Bandits handled the 86ers without too much pressure, 2-0.

Almost Famous got their arch rivals, the Bandits on the board. First match, fell to the Bandits. But the Bandits failed to get on in quick fashion in the second match and weren’t able to overcome the 400 point lead Almost Famous had on them. The third match was equally exciting, Bandits were looking at the out first and failed in their math. Almost Famous was able to come through and grab the match. 2-1

Talked with Keith 3/27/08 and he made sense...
I've removed my rant, thanks Keith, it's often easy to get caught up in the moment and put blinders on.

Other than that, good job to the Hawaiians and Gary, you guys deserve the traveling trophy and it’s always a blast to shoot with you all.

“Dupes”

Well last night was the season wrap up for the ADA. I’m a little sad to see it go, but all good things have to come to an end.

I want to congratulate both the Misfits and the Bandits for winning their divisions. The Misfits won the A division with only one loss of the season, to a closely kept rival team (Kiss) finishing 9-1. The Bandits were able to repeat last years sweep of the B division going undefeated again, ending the season 10-0.

A Division
Flight deck hosted Eddies for the night in a battle for the 4th spot and a chance to play in the playoffs. Well, Butch called me up, letting me know his guys threw their hearts out, Wade posted his big numbers, and Keith even did the famous double bull out, but in the end, it wasn’t enough. Eddies grabbed the winning for the night and came out a few points on top of the Flight deck overall. Butch, it was a good season, there’s always next year. Flight deck (7) vs Eddies (12)

Kiss was at home against the Bashers in the last night of the season. The Bashers still winless were looking for a way to grab one last night. Kiss wasn’t having it. After the week before, Kiss went back into fearless mode. Kiss (13) vs Bashers (6)

Predators got to host the Misfits is a big match for the A division wrap up. Well, no high outs, no 180’s this time around, but Misfits did get the job done. Predators (7) vs Misfits (12)

B Division
210 played against Almost Famous last night to wrap up the season. By the sounds of things, Almost trucked along to their win and clutching 2nd place. Though, there are reports that 210 was short a player and Almost supplied the missing body. A big no, no in the second half, but in this instant it didn’t affect anything. Here’s the rule reminder:
Rule 22D – Page 30 – Changing Teams/Player Release: Once having played for a team, a player may change teams only once, PROVIDED the following conditions are met:
1. Written permission from the player’s captain has been obtained indication that the player may leave the team and also to which team the player is transferring;
2. The Secretary has received written notice of the player’s intention to change teams and has confirmed the change;
3. The change takes place during the first round of league play;
4. The player must sit out one week before playing for / with his/her new team.

Anyways, the final score for the match 210 (6) vs Almost Famous (13).

Duct Tapes were at home to attempt to keep the Wild Things at bay and out of the playoffs. Ralph did grab a nice new team out (100) for Duct Tape. Well looks like they did it, though Wild Things hold more points, the win / lose doesn’t lie when lined up against the 86ers. Duct Tapes (11) vs Wild Things (8).

The 86ers were against the Bandits to see if the magic would come to an end. The Bandits had another plan, win enough to give their sister team a chance at getting to the playoffs. Well, Bandits did what they came to do, Wild Things just didn’t find the win. They did copy last year, going undefeated in the second half. 86ers (4) vs Bandits (15).

**************************************************
Playoffs:
Rule 15C – Page 26 – Division Championship Playoffs: ADA division championship playoffs will consist of the top four (4) teams in the ‘A’ and ‘B’ divisions playing in a single elimination tournament, HELD ONE NIGHT ONLY (AT THE DVISION WINNER’S SPONSORING ESTABLISHMENT). A seeded bracket will be utilized (#1 plays #4 and #2 plays #3). The winners advance, the losers are eliminated. Match format will be Team games. The match will be best 2 of 3 legs.

Well provided I’ve done every thing correctly, I think it’s going to look like this:

All divisions will be shooting 3/25/08 at the bars listed.

A Division – Moose Lodge
Misfits vs Eddies
Predators vs Kiss

B Division – PJ’s
Bandits vs 86ers

The snow on the ground didn’t cause any of the teams from fielding their best possible. Some clutch matches were played last night, so finally we have some answers as to the leaders. There’s still one more week left, and then we go to our playoffs held at the champion’s bar for the traveling trophy. All and all, it’s been a decent season if you ask me.

A division
Bashers were looking for their first win of the second half against Eddies. Well, the search continues. Eddies grabbed some clutch point to put them in a position to catch Flight deck next week, which they play. Bashers (8) vs Eddies (11).

Kiss hosted the Misfits (the current leader) for the night. Well, what can be said, the Misfits held nothing back. Both Wally and Sean shot 180’s to help in the slaughter of the hopeful Kiss. Two things happened last night, Kiss’s loss in points allowed the Predators to jump into the 2nd slot, and the lead the Misfits have makes it hard for them to loose 1st. Kiss (5) vs Misfits (14).

Predators had the Flight Deck boys over for the night. It’s always good to watch them shoot. Matt was in buying shots and played a few matches, I know cause he’s hard not to hear. As always the Flight Deck, were their normal selves, great guys, fun close matches. There’s the reason why you have to root for these guys, they make darts fun. Anyways, Next week Flight Deck finds themselves in a clutch match to hold their position. Good luck guys. Predators (12) vs Flight Deck (7).

B Division (All the matches are at Carps next week (Booooo))
Duct Tapes were home against sister team 210.Kevin shot a nice 180, it’s always nice to grab those before the end of the season. Duct Tapes were able to grab enough points to pull away from the 86er’s, which still have them on the radar. Duct Tapes (12) vs 210 (7).

86er’s play last night against Wildthings. From the sounds of it, it was a hard earned night for the 86er’s. Jeremy did remind me of his 117 out for his team. Sorry about that, some times things get jumbled in the messages and actually getting updated. Anyways, Brian was able to get another win off, barely. 86er’s (10) vs Wildthings (9).

Bandits were home against their closely matches rivals, Almost Famous. Well, the night didn’t start to great for the defending champs in this must win match, but the late arrival of Bandits 4th person proved to be a blessing. Every match was close, there was no blow outs. In fact I’d dare to say, it only came down to who could hit their outs. No high outs to report, but captain Dupes did have a perfect night, and teammate Paisley did win the clutch game to allow Dupes to finish the night off with the win. Once again, Linz did get his 140, but no 180. Hopefully next week or not this season at all Linz. Looking at the win / loss record and the points spree, Almost has for the most part clenched the 2nd spot, and the Bandits should be able to hold their 1st. The real questions are, can the Bandits repeat the undefeated second half as they had last year, why isn’t the Bandits named team Mike and who ever, and will captain Dupes retire after this season as he mentioned once before. Bandits (12) vs Almost Famous (7).

“Dupes”

Well I missed typing up the update for last week. Had to hunt down a score, and honestly, caught a bit of that flu that is going around, so I just wasn’t up to it. Though the scores were updated, so rest assured those scores are correct.

Let’s see what there’s to talk about. Normally I mention how the matches went and what not, spitting out the scores at the end, but this time I think I’m going to do things differently. There are only 2 more weeks left in our normal season, then comes along the play off. So let’s talk about the teams themselves. I’ll go in the order that they’re sitting in at the moment.

A Division
Misfits – Sean Palmer added another to 180 to his standing and helped keep the team in the #1 spot. The team averages 13 point wins and is chalked full of shooters. Only suffering from 1 loss all season (against Kiss), the Misfits have been handling their competition defeats left and right. If this team was to loose 1 more time it could make for an interesting wrap up for the season, as their rivals are the last 2 teams they play and their competitors for the #1 spot.

Predators – They came back from somewhere, not sure how they did it, but defeating Kiss last week did help in jumping over a hurdle. The Predators hurt themselves by playing short-handed and all but giving over a victory to Eddies. Though last time the Misfits did play against the Predators they managed to squeeze away with the win handing the Predators lose #2. Scoring an average of 12 points a match, it’ll be interesting to see if the Predators can narrow the gap and take the #1 spot away.

Kiss – Last years champion, don’t count them out of the running yet. Only 1 point stands between them and the Predators. Their last 2 matches are against the Misfits and the Bashers. Being that Kiss is the only team so far to defeat the Misfits and that the Bashers on average give their opponents 14 points a night, Kiss is in a good spot to take #1 from the Misfits.

Flight Deck – My favorite team to talk about. It isn’t because they’re a powerhouse team of the who’s who in darts like some of the other teams. It’s because every one that plays against these guys tell me what fun and how good every thing goes. I personally have to say that they’re my second favorite team in our league, but I’m bias, I’m a captain of my own team. The team averages 8 wins a night. It’ll be fun to see were they end up.

Eddies – Another one of those good guy teams, they truck right along, often times jumping up to punch the big teams in the nose. Pat did take the time to grab a 180 2 weeks ago to add his name to the list. With all the darts that these guy play I’m surprised they don’t sit higher on the pole. Averaging a 7 points a night, you never know when they’re going to go for broke.

Bashers – Ah, the team that still believe in pre-gaming the actual game. In the past they prove to be one of the tougher team, but this year they’re still looking for their first win in the second half. Maybe it’s a rebuilding year, or maybe it’s a good drinking year, but 2008 hasn’t been nice to the Bashers yet. Averaging 4 points a night, I hope the last 2 weeks turn around for the ADA’s favorite bad boys.

B Division
Bandits – Last year they went undefeated in the second half and swept the B division. For the second year in a row, Dupes has been able to assemble a team to push for a repeat. Well with a roster that could easily field 2 teams, it’s easy to do. Averaging 13 points a night, they seem to make their way through match after match. Mike Linz weekly shoots his 140, just shy and still searching to join teammates Joe Rose and Mike Paisley with a 180. The Bandits hardest match to date was against Duct Tapes, narrowly winning. With 2 matches left, unless Almost Famous beats them, the season is all but locked up.

Almost Famous – A different team than in the past, they march through playing in the B division. A lose from Duct Tapes helped the Bandit run a little further, but Almost Famous is still on their heels. Averaging 11 points a night, they’re a strong team to contend with.

Duct Tapes – The traveling trophy winners from least year, they don’t want anyone to forget about them. They can play, they’re a good team, and it’s just a matter of what team is there to compete, that’s all. Averaging 9 points a night, they still have lot that they’re playing for.

Wild Things – For their first season in the ADA I have to say they’re doing all right. Nate joined the 180 ranks last week during their win over 210. They’re a sleeper team and can be a tough challenge at any given moment. Averaging 8 points a night, they keep on trying for the wins.

86er’s- Brian has had roster troubles this season. The past champion team is for the most part a new bunch. Plagued by sick shooter, having to play short and getting over rookie fears the 86er’s have fallen to the back of the bus. Though win / loss wise they sit in an 3 way cluster with Duct Tapes and Wild Things, the points speak differently. Averaging 8 points a night, I’m looking for this team to push strongly and grab as many points as possible here at the end.

210 – What’s there to say? The good news is unlike the Basher, these guys have a win. A win over the short playing 86er’s gave them that. Averaging 6 points a night, I think Sam needs to be remind that this isn’t Nugget league, there’s no red lantern award.

Well that concludes this week’s write up. To be honest, I’m kind of darted out. With all the tournaments that have been taken place and wrapping up of leagues, I’m glad there’s only 2 more weeks, well 3 if you care about the traveling trophy (it’s like a feel good award if you didn’t take 1st already). With 2 weeks left, there are lots that can change, lots of what ifs out there. Should be fun to see where the dice fall. Keep calling in scores and details, these last couple weeks are the most important.

“Dupes”

I see the mess that I made of the schedules didn’t stop the play for the night. I’m actually glad for that. Only had one call confirming the schedule, and that’s always fine.

Man was it slick last night, that and a lot of people suffering from colds. But as the dart players we are, either too stubborn to stay home and enjoy the night, or to stupid, I see that the matches took place. Well all but one, but they actually called me to let me know what’s going one. It’s amazing!

A Division
Eddies hosted Kiss at home. Nice short messages got the point across. Kiss is making up headway and got the win. Eddies (5) vs Kiss (14)

Misfits had the Flight Deck over for the night. Wade from the Flight Deck bettered his out with a 150, or at least that’s what I heard. I was also given a report that Sean went through solid, winning all his games. Now on a side note, I do like it when players are honest and upfront with our readers and me. When they are, I take it easier on them, it’s my way for rewarding them for being upfront. Butch reported he choked. There’s always next week.

Predators vs Bashers – too be played Thursday. Though I got to say, I’m not sure what tiddlywinks has to do with the two teams not playing, but don’t ask, don’t tell, right Matt?

B Division
Wildthings were home against the Bandits. Well, what’s there to say, Bandits, at home, another win. Wildthings (6) vs Bandits (13)

210 played against the 86ers in a match that the outcome surprised me. Fist I want to say is “210 WINS”! Now to get the Bashers a win to get rid of the zeros in the win column. Not sure what happened, but good job 210. 210 (11) vs 86ers (8)

Duct Tapes were feeling the mojo and helped setback Almost Famous run at the Bandits. Was a close match with Duct Tapes coming out on top. Duct Tapes (10) vs Almost Famous (9)

Schedule (week of 2/26 & 3/18 all the B Division matches are at Carp’s (Boooooo))

Well the normal schedule spot hasn't been updated yet. Stuff happens, oh well. Though I should let every one know where they play (even though it's posted at the bars).

2/19/08
Flight Deck vs Misfit @ The Moose Lodge
Bashers vs Predators @ PJ's
Kiss vs Eddies @ Eddies

Bandits vs Wild Things @ PJ's
86ers vs 210 @ Carps
Almost Famous vs Duct Tapes @ Carps

Well the half of the second half is now complete. The teams in both divisions are shaping up and jockeying for position. Honestly it’s still anyone’s game. Only one team remains undefeated in the league and two teams is still searching for a win. I know the sudden week off for the Valentine week has had mixed reviews. I only report what I’m told, but I personally welcome the break. Hopefully this weekend some time I’ll have the site updated to reflect the schedule in the proper order and dates.

A Division

The Basher’s hosted Kiss over for the night. Kiss must of whispered sweet nothings into the Basher’s ear to lull them into a sense of security. Well Kiss ran off with the win and Jaymie Willis did a great job of redeeming himself this week, a nice 153 out. That ties the league high already in place. Nice Job Jaymie! Bashers (3) vs Kiss (16).

Eddies were home against The Flight Deck this week. Wade Wilmink grabbed a nice 180 to start the ball rolling. I guess Flight Deck kept the momentum going all the way for the win. Eddies (8) vs Flight Deck (11).

The Misfits had the Predators over for the in league rivalry. I hear that good darts were shot by all. Matt got one over on Palmer, I’m sure the bald head had some thing to do with it. The Greek grabbed a 180 to tuck under his belt. Dean Fleer against if former team was flawless. Though a close match like this, I think the real winners is Kiss, blowing by the Predators and slowly sneaking up on the Misfits. Misfits (10) vs Predators (9).

B Division

Wild Things were playing with Duct Tapes at PJ’s. Jeremy from the Wild Things out did his own high out twice, finally settling for a 130. Wow, what a close match. Good shooting guys. Wild Things (10) vs Duct Tapes (9).

Almost Famous was the host against the yet winless 210. Well, Don didn’t allow the 210’s record to change. Almost grabs a handful of points and runs out the door. Almost Famous (14) vs 210 (5).

The Bandits had the 86ers over for the night. Not sure what happened, but it wasn’t a normal 86er’s kind of score. Though I am happy that my boys were able to get the job done. I did hear that Mr. Oshea was nice enough to had the points over to the 86ers that they got for the night. Once again, Linz with a 140, just shy of the 180 again. Tsk Tsk Tsk. Bandits (16) vs 86ers (3).

2/19 Schedule

So, I screwed up. I thought I understood DW's instructions, but it looks like I didn’t.
Scrap Feb. 12th’s matches. It sounds like there maybe a week of rest before we truck into the last leg of our season. When we do continue, the schedule will look just like it did before, just if you were home, you’ll be away and vice versa.

So in the long run, scratch the matches the site shows on Feb. 12th. We’ll continue play Feb. 19. As far as the schedule goes, we’ll play who you played right off the bat (Jan. 8th) in the swapped position home / away).
