Last night wrapped up the season for Express Trios. After the games were played, the payouts for the teams involved were handed out. There’s still one match out there left to be played. The games from last night do count towards the team’s standing going into playoffs. A reminder, we’ll be doing the complete playoffs on 8/19, getting them out of the way and over. Start time will be 7:00 for the all the teams but 1st & 2nd. As it’s shaping up, Game Over needs 2 wins to secure their 4th spot and a 7 game win over Don’t Care to grab the 3rd spot. Though, other than it’s more cash money handed out at the end of the night, the 3rd & 4th place teams will still face each other next week.

Dirty’s Crew suffered their first loss of the season to the Bubbas. After stealing the first game, things looked a little balanced. The Bubbas swept their singles, thanks to myself struggling on a 25 out and give them the win for the night. An impressive 148 out was shot by DW. The Bubbas (5) vs Dirty’s Crew (4).
‘til Closing got another chance at the Bandits, but came up one short again. Though missing Cajun, Josh stepped in to fill his shoes. Josh ended his season with a white horse. Very nicely done. In the end the Bandits kept ‘til closing at bay, a got their win. ‘til Closing (4) vs Bandits (5)
Game Over vs Don’t Care – rescheduled (Alvin was out of town)
************************************************************************
At the end of the night, the teams were paid out their $3.00 per win for the season.
Dirty’s Crew – $120.00
The Bubbas - $105.00
The Bandits - $60.00
‘til Closing - $57.00
In a effort to give a break to the busy darters, with life, Vegas and a number of other things going on. We'll be having our playoffs to completion on 8/19. We'll start at 7:00. Take note of the change and see you all there.
What a nice day outside it was last night. The darts flew and I head a bit of laughs and good times being had. The season is starting to get near to the end, there are now 2 matches that need to be made up before 8/12, so that placing can be done. Remember that it’s important for the teams to play all their matches as it affects payouts or, even a team’s chance for their win bonus at the end of the season. Bottom line, if your team wants their payout for wins, make sure all matches are played.
Missing matches:
7/8
Bandits @ Don’t Care
7/29
Don’t Care @ Game Over
It’s no big deal, just let me know when you’re going to be playing the matches, and if you need a sheet I’ll make sure one is there for ya.
Thought I would also update the teams to let them know how many games each player has. If everyone recalls, each person playing in the playoffs must have played in 4 matches, it says it on the bottom of every score sheet also. So as a reminder, make sure you get who you want qualified.

Results:
‘til Closing battled the freight train that is Dirty’s Crew. Most the matches were close, but in the end ‘til Closing came up a lil short. It was a good time. Dirty’s Crew (7) vs ‘til Closing (2)
The Bandits fought against the Bubba’s. Sounds like a fight it was. Though no sign of Hallie or Matt, it’s looking more like DW will be replacing Matt than filling in. At the end the Bubba’s dominated. Bubba’s (8) vs Bandits (1)
Don’t Care @ Game Over didn’t happen, I heard Alvin was stuck out in the valley. No one told poor Larry…
What's there to say about week two. It came, it went, and now it's over. The two new teams played their first matches together. Every one clawing for wins, as wins equal cash money at the end of the season. Here's the results.
*************************************************
A couple questions was asked of me that I want to put up the answers so every one gets a chance to see them.
Does Money Week count towards the play off requirement and win lose record.
Yes on both, Playing Money Week will count towards the 4 match requirement and the wins / loses will affect your standings.
Can you swap out a player after a match has started.
No, it's just impossible to keep track of the games / matches played if we did that.

The Bandits came up against last weeks big winner, Dirty's Crew. Well, Duane got his chance to shoot against a former Express Trio's teammate & against his regular NDA partner in crime. Man did it show. At the end, Duane led Dirty to a repeat of last week. Bandits (1) vs Dirty's Crew (8).
Don't Care got their first taste for the new format, and apparently liked it. 'til closing still trying to find their stride, let the new kids on the block grab a handful of wins. Not a bad start if you ask me. Don't Care (7) vs 'til Closing (2).
Game Over was in strange form, in fact they only had one of their normal players. Their big guy was tied over, causing David (who's not near the 33 he replaced) to step in. In a trick move of their own, DW replaced the poor performing Simons. Well it worked. The Bubbas were able to make up ground on last weeks defeat. Game Over (0) vs The Bubbas (9)
Tuesday started the season of Express Trios, and a happy addition to the schedule. The Bandits & Bi-Polar Express will be joining us the time around. This season the teams are battling each match out for the best reason, each game counts as cash money. Oh yes, the best motivator in the world to do what you can, since day one. For every game won (remember each team has a chance at 9 games a night) the team will earn $3.00. All you have to do is win the match with the minimum amount of games (5) to make your league fee back. Not a bad thing if you ask me. Anyways, I've rambled too long, I'll let you know how the matches panned out.
Game Over had a personnel change switching their big gun over to the little A-Rex. Must have been enough to do the trick, that or 'til Closing is figuring out the rotation of things. Either way, Game Over got to that precious 5 games to win the match. Game Over (5) vs 'til Closing (4)
The Bubbas were home against Dirty's Crew. Well, a creature of habit, the captain for The Bubbas slapped down their lineup without looking at their opponents lineup. It may have proved to be the start to the end before the games started. In the end Dirty's Crew cashed in nice for the night.
Dirty's Crew (8) vs The Bubbas (1)
The Bandits vs Bi-Polar Express didn't happen Tuesday night, but will in the near future. The teams were just made about 2 hours ago.
D.S.C.'s Express Trios at PJ's had a good run last time. It's been a
little bit over a month since the last season ended paying out a nice
1200.00 between first & second. Well now that I've seen how things
go, this time around, I'm giving every one a chance at the money by
paying the teams for each win. Should help add some competitiveness to
tho whole thing.
If you don't know what Express Trios is, here's the quick and skinny.
There's no handicap at all, instead teams are asked to fit within a 65
point skill cap, making the field level for all that play. The teams
play each other once, 9 games make a match. The matches are cheaper and
quicker than a normal league. It's a blast, and a little tricky to get
used to the format. There's allot of cricket played, infact the only
time the players play '01 is to play their singles match. Anyways, it's
a blast and a good way to unwind during a Tuesday night.
Well the deadline came and went for the Express Trio’s league. I can see that summer is in full swing, only a handful of teams signed up. Though I may be at fault this time around, I haven’t been beating the bushes like I should have been. Anyways, the deadline to sign up has been extended to July 6th. That gives me a little time to fix the schedule and notify teams. So if you’re interested in playing, give myself (Dupes 229-3093) or Hallie a ring (301-8128).

This is the closing day for Express Trios. A fun format that's different from the long seasons we've become used to. If you want to play, this is the last day for sign up.
The Express Trios at PJ’s wrapped up the first season with playoffs last night. Let me tell you, the four teams that were there for their chance at the money all played well and it showed why they were the top 4. We tried to get the matches rolling at 7pm, which actually we were able to get the Money Pit versus Arctic Wolves match going on time. Not the say that the Game Over versus Pineapple & Mixed Nuts match didn’t fly through once it got started. In fact the Game Over match wrapped up before the Money Pit.
The Game Over versus Pineapple & Mixed Nuts match may have started late, but it didn’t take Eddie Wimberly long to take control of things. Grabbing a quick 4 – 0 lead it was looking like Game Over may sweep, but then, as with all good things, Pineapple jumped up to grab a few games of their own. The final score 5-2 Game Over claimed the win.
I watched the first Money Pit versus Arctic Wolves game. Money Pit had backed the Wolves into the 16 / 15 corner when things changed. Arctic Wolves fought back and punched the Money Pit in the nose. The lesson was learned, and Money Pit corrected it’s game play. I did see the Money Pit at a 200 pit sink hole as the Wolves grabbed another game. At the end, Money Pit managed to get to the magic 5 wins only letting the Wolves grab 3 games.
So with both teams now in the money, the two winners battled it out for how much cash they would take home. Money Pit versus Game Over took to a board neither team played on and battled against one another. Games were won on slight mistakes by the other team or outstanding darts when needed. I witnessed Duane tossing a 3 in the bed, with his teammate Matt backing him up with one. All and all, a match that I didn’t mind watching and not playing in, it was finally the whole of why I started this league. In the end Money Pit was 5 to Game Over’s 3.
1st Money Pit $900.00
2nd Game Over $300.00
In closing for the first season, looking through the score sheets, I have to say. MVP for the league would have to be Duane Flajole. Though he may not carry the big average, time and time again he came through scoring big darts, clutch darts I would say, to keep his team winning. Good Job Duane! Once again I have to thank every one that braved my format and style. I think we had an awesome time and things can only grow from here.
We’ll be doing another league in about a month’s time, taking sign up until 7/1/08. Think this time around we’ll pay out $3 a game won to the teams, to give every one a chance to collect some back. The playoff payouts will be a little weaker, but still better than a 20 week season of Medalist and by far cheaper too. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a ring, my number is all over the place. If enough teams are interested, I may even look into making a higher cap for a different division maybe around 75 to get some other players involved, though the competition would be very different, I’d have to have at least 6 teams willing to play in a stronger level. It’s just a thought, we’ll have to see what comes of it. Anyways, next season starts 7/8/08, see you all then.

Bringing darts to the people...
And just like that the express season is over. 7 weeks have come and gone. Every one has played every one once. No handicap, no reason for stat control, and honestly, in my opinion, a good group willing to have a good time. I have to say, it was a close race all the way through. Money Pit was the only undefeated team working their way through the 7 weeks. People may ask how I chose to put Game Over in second over Pineapple, well I looked at who won the match they played against one an other. I was slightly surprised not to see any perfect ’01 games thrown. I guess 301 is harder than it looks. I want to thank every one that played and filled in on the teams as they worked their way through the quick season.
Here’s the Final Four, Money Pit (Matt, Tiny, & Duane), Game Over (Eddie W., Margaret & Heather), Pineapple & Nuts (Conrad, Casey & Eddie W.), & Arctic Wolves (Shawn, Danielle, & Randy). These are the people that qualified to shoot on the teams and should be at the playoffs. As I’ve said before, 1st will play 4th & 2nd will play 3rd in a race to 5. Not even going to guess what quarters will be because every match could be different, the least amount would be 5 games straight at $3.75 a team. I’d like to wrap it up and payout that night to, so let’s start the matches at 7:00 on 6/3/08.
A match will be a race to 5 games.
All games will be Trio’s Cricket stacked.
Teams will lock in their throwing order at the start of the match & will not change for that match.
The Home team will diddle first, winner of the diddle will start the match.
All games will be looser start, but the 9th.
If a 9th game is needed, looser of the original diddle has the option (show or follow) on the diddle. Winner of the diddle starts the game.
If there’s any questions feel free to call me. No subs, these are the people that qualified to shoot. Take care and thanks again.
