Play-offs are just around the corner and Hideaway A is making its move just in time. Hideaway A gave smoked Buckaroo last night 19 to 0, and although Mike for the Buckaroo turned in some impressive scores (140, 140 and 125) along with a high-on of 112. Apparently Hideaway play solid darts and didn’t get rattled, it also didn’t hurt that Tom and Scott both started their games with high-ons of 121 and 120 respectively. Good Darts Hideaway, with two weeks left it will be interesting to see where they are going to end up.
Cabin Tavern ended the night with a solid score beating Pioneer A 14 to 5. But that was not the way it started. Pioneer took full advantage of Cabin in the single matches and won five out of 8 singles before Cabin settled down and started playing. Cabin was led by strong shooting from the Pace family. Rob shot a 137 and a121, while his wife Kristi answered with a 133 and 123. Thanks for the support guys.
Big scores can come from lower placed teams, as Pioneer B’s Josh proved when he shot a 180 and won his match last night against Hideaway B. Not quite a big, but Sam for Hideaway shot a 121 to try and keep Hideaway in the match. But in the end, Pioneer overwhelmed Hideaway with the final score: Pioneer B 13 – Hideaway B 6.
Our final match of the week is Moose Vs Flight Deck. Moose was led by Greek who shot a 140 and supported by Alvin who score 123. Flight Deck answered with Mike who won a point by taking 114 out. In the end, Moose 12 – Flight Deck 7.
I would also like to take just a moment to talk about the play-offs. For the new shooters in our league, here is how it will work. Round 1: 1st plays 8th, 2nd plays 7th, 3rd plays 6th and 4th plays 5th. In the second round, the winning team with the highest regular season seeding will play the remaining team with the lowest regular season seeding. This is not a bracketed play-off, so don’t think of it like that. Also, all matches are best 2 out-of 3, with the exception being the team game which is a single game. First team to win 10 point wins the match and gets to move on.
If you have any questions, please call and I will gladly explain the rules to you. Have fun and keep hitting those doubles.
