Tagged: So at the NDA general membership meeting that was held 9/13, the famous line was uttered, “Go with the same board”. So here are the results: In my opinion there are a few things the board needs to tackle. The Reps need to know about games not played and why / when they will be played. The bars, vendalaska and us as players loose too much money from forfeits or matches never being played. With Reps that are supposed to taking care of those nights, it should be easy to get a handle on things. There should be a penalty for forfeiting. Paying both teams fees, not being able to play in the play offs, something needs to be inline to make a forfeit not look so good and easy. Where are the playoffs going to be played at? It’s better for them to start looking now or it will be another, in my opinion BORING playoff at bars strung out across Anchorage. With the NDA taking action against operators, what’s the board going to do about stopping the cheaters that put the whole state of Alaska at risk. Making sure the bars pay their fees within the first 2-3 weeks of the season. Makes the players responsible to the bar and hopefully the bar would make sure their players are playing. The checks and balances that should be in place haven’t been what they should have been in the past. With this board 3 years running (I may be wrong, it’s possible 4-5) I hope now they get their hands around things and fix some of the issues, or at least address them. Well any complaints or issues, we as NDA players have the same people to complain / address things too. Vendalaska has very little to do with the way the league is ran, it's the board that's been re-elected over and over again. Complain to them... “Dupes”

Submitted by angela lewis on September 18, 2008 - 7:49am.While it is nice that people are willing to post information on the site to keep everyone up to date, but let me just clarify some of the information. Marcia reported that the Women's rep position was eliminated, so Nichelle is probably not going to want to hear your complaints, and I did play darts in 2006 - I took last year off, which was 2007. I took the year off because darts was no longer fun and I needed to step back from it. I am playing this year and I plan on having a great season, just going out once a week with my husband, to play darts with our friends.
The basis of the posting is accurate - players need to be more involved and take a proactive approach to solving problems. If you have a complaint - write it down and submit it to the Board, but also include your suggestions to fix it. It is one thing to complain and offer solutions, it is another just to whine about stuff and not do anything.
I also think it is notable to say that the Board has made every effort to deal with the complaints that we have received over the years this includes suspending players, expelling players from the league, adjusting stats and forfeiting games. If you have other ideas please let us know.

NDA Meeting
Submitted by akdartco on September 17, 2008 - 12:22pm.Let me start out by thanking Dupes for the information posted on this website. It's been very informative and helpful and nice to see someone keeping us all up to date on current events.
Now the commentary. I have also noticed the comments/opinions that come with the useful information. Some I agree, some I don't. The latest about the NDA board inspired a reply. It was posted for all to see and for all to attend to make changes for the upcoming NDA season at the NDA general meeting. Those of us who did show up did talk about issues we had and made an effort to make changes and make them better. And we got Medalist shirts! Thanks Marcia!
I would like to remind everyone this is your league, your the players who make this happen. I would encourage all of you to participate in the General Meeting held every year about the same time. I would encourage you to be proactive about issues you may have. For instance if you have an issue you would like the NDA board to address, don't complain to other players and hope something happens, write it down and submit to the board members. Please consider a solution as well. The board is not here to hinder play they are here to help.
Standing in the shadows complaining about the board or issues with the league doesn't help anyone. Nothing gets done and discourages play in the league. Negative comments about the board in a public forum such as this sight, singling out specific people I find very irresponsible.
We should all keep in mind to encourage play in our league to new players or existing players.
Stating a worst case scenario about the whole state being banned at the NDA tourney in Vegas doesn't help either. It's up to all of us to report unfair play responsibly and respectfully.
I continually have to remind myself darts are a fun game I enjoy. I would encourage all of you to do the same the next time you step up to the oche. Cheers! Das Inga
