I just wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to the winners of the local NDA tournaments that have taken place. PJ’s took a commanding lead this year placing 7 times followed by The Blue Fox, The Cabin Tavern, and Club 210 each with 2 teams placing, then Carps, The O, Tony’s, The Whaler, and The Black Angus with 1 team placing. Good job to every one involved and making this a decent year.

On a footnote, for a better league, there needs to be better participation by those involved. There wasn’t even an election this year, as the low turn out came to vote. Many of the people that sit on the board and make decisions for you and me aren’t active and need to be replaced. It’s easy to point fingers as to what’s wrong with a league, but before you do, ask yourself, what have you done to make the league better. I can tell you, for the vast majority, the answer is very little. To many people sit back and say, so and so will do it, and that’s why the league is in the condition that it’s in. The league needs new officers, and fresh ideas, the membership deserves and needs to know what money the league operates with and where does it come from. The sponsors need to know that the league is active and staying strong. Last but not least, there should be a group of people making the end of the season tournament something to remember and not part of a gauntlet of darts stretched out over a month. I miss watching other divisions play and seeing other people play the game, but there’s no reason for a hotel to make us pay what it does for the space. Once again, this isn’t some thing that should be forced upon Marcia to work out. Marcia doesn’t even play NDA, we do. Lets take control of our own league and make things better for our selves.
